First Aston Martin agent in Thailand

First Aston Martin agent in Thailand

Master Group Corporation (Asia) or MGC, a provider of car services in Thailand, looks set to be appointed as the formal agent for Aston Martin.

The V12-powered Vanquish will take on Ferrari’s recently launched F12.

This will mark the first time the exotic sports car brand is represented officially in this country, with the parent firm in England to be dealt with directly.

Previously, importers went through the Singaporean office when sourcing Aston Martin cars for Thai customers.

Sources said a formal announcement appears imminent, and this will fortify MGC's business, which already includes import rights for Rolls-Royce, dealerships for the BMW and Mini marques and various car-tuning, car-rental and used-car operations.

The time is ripe for MGC to acquire selling rights for Aston Martin, as the model line-up was just updated in England a few months ago, said the sources.

Kicking off the range is the all-new Vanquish coupe{aac} and Volante convertible.

Others that have been refreshed include the DB9 and Vantage sports cars and the four-door Rapide S.

Recent news that Aston Martin will access AMG technical resources for their future cars via a pending deal with Germany's Daimler AG have also added optimism to MGC's long-term commitment for the brand in Thailand.

AMG is Daimler's wholly owned high-performance car unit for Mercedes-Benz-branded automobiles.

It will extend its power-train technologies and electronics to Aston Martin cars under a proposed deal.
