Pattani food shop grenade wounds five

Five people, including three teachers, were wounded in a grenade attack on a food shop in Mayo district of Pattani province on Monday afternoon, reports said.

The attack took place at about 1.30pm when four men on two motorcycles drove past the food shop, which is just 60m from the Mayo police station. One of the pillion riders hurled a grenade into the shop.

Five people eating in the shop were injured, but not seriously. They were Kwankamol Sithichen, 54, director of Nudol School, Suwit Rojanasuwan, 54, also a school director, Sunthorn Srisompong, 50, a teacher, and two villagers - Charoen Tamprasert and Anon Chaiyanurat.
