Bomb wounds 2 rangers in Narathiwat

Two para-military rangers were seriously wounded by a bomb explosion in Cho Airong district of Narathiwat province on Monday morning.
Pol Lt Kobkiat Maneechote, duty officer at Cho Airong police station, said the attack occurred about 8.50am in front of a cemetery on a road to Ban Cho Kro in tambon Bukit.
A team of six soldiers from Rangers Company 4807 were on a routine patrol along the road when a home-made bomb planted at the foot of a power post was detonated remotely by militants hiding nearby.
Patrol leader L/Cpl Kampanat Sukkaew, 30, and ranger Thiradet Chanyu, 25, both received serious wounds to the body and legs. They were admitted to Narathiwat Ratchanakarin Hospital.
