Pattani bomb wounds 4 rangers

Four paramilitary rangers providing security for teachers were injured, one critically, by a bomb explosion on a road in Pattani’s Yarang district on Friday morning, reports said.

The wounded are Sgt Praves Saengsom, Ranger Supachai Daothong, Ranger Uthain Nilkhunthod and Ranger Rungsak Chomchalao, of Rangers Company 2206. They were taken to Pattani hospital.

According to witnesses, the four rangers were patrolling in a pickup truck along a local road at Moo 6, tambon Rawaeng of Yarang district, about 500 metres from Sanor Pitthayakom school, when the bomb was detonated.

The pickup truck was damaged by the explosion.

Police blamed separatist militants.
