Chao Phya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital will educate the public on the miracles of Thai herbs at the 10th National Herb Expo, which takes place at Impact, Muang Thong Thani next week.

This year the hospital will focus on certain kinds of herbs that are good for the stomach. Visitors will learn to prepare fermented dishes that help promote digestive and bowel health, and how to use herbs and massage to treat abdominal problems. There will also be a workshop on Thai-style detox.

Innovative beauty products, featuring bamboo, rice and lotus as main ingredients, will be on sale.

The hospital will also give away 200 copies of its new recipe book and 1,000 herbal plants of five varieties, every day. They include turmeric, dipli or long pepper, plao noi or Croton subiyratus Kurz, ma gah or Bridelia ovata Decne and ta kai.

Held for the 10th consecutive year by the Department for Development of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine, the herb expo gathers numerous state offices and private outfits in related fields to present a variety of medical products and services and many other activities under the theme "Thai Herbs, Thai Health and Thai Economy".

The expo includes exhibitions, academic conferences, demonstrations, as well as a string of training courses, which are free to attend during the five-day event.
