London - More than 130 cars were involved in a pile-up during foggy conditions Thursday on a bridge linking the southern English county of Kent with the Isle of Sheppey, police said.

Emergency services had been called to the scene and there were believed to be serious injuries, police added.
It was not immediately clear what had caused the crash, which took place at around 7.15am local time (1.15pm Thailand time).
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) reported that the crash took place in thick fog.
Senior police officer Chief Inspector Andy Reeves told the BBC that the crash took place over a "protracted area", but no-one had died.
Asked if fog caused the collision, he said: "It's too early to give a cause.
"The weather will be a factor. I can confirm that it was, and it continues to be, very hazardous. It was described to me as a very thick fog and it was certainly low visibility at the time."
