A woman was killed in a fall from the platform of Phra Khanong skytrain station on Wednesday night.
Pol Lt Kittimasak Intachayadom, a duty officer at Khlong Ton police station, said he received a report of the incident at 11.30pm.
The woman was identified as 36-year-old May Sompong. She was found lying on the pavement seriously injured and rushed to Kluay Nam Thai Hospital.
She succumbed to her injuries in hospital and was pronounced dead at 9am Thursday.
Panawan Sompong, May's younger sister, 32, told investigators that May had been for dinner with a friend who had recently returned from abroad prior to the fall.
Ms Panawan said she did not think May would have tried to commit suicide, because she had no problem with anyone. She said she suspected that the accident could have been partly caused by heavy rain last night, which would have made the platform and surrounding areas slippery.
May's body was taken to Chulalongkorn Hospital's Forensic Medicine Division for post mortem examination.
