Buriram beat BEC Tero

Alejandro Mennedez began his reign as coach of Buriram United with a 2-0 home win against BEC Tero Sasana in the Thai Premier League on Saturday.

The Spaniard's Thunder Castle remain five points ahead of SCG Muang Thong United who beat TOT 2-1.

At I-Mobile Stadium, Adisak Kraisorn gave Buriram the lead after just 10 minutes and Theerathon Bunmathan finished off the Fire Dragons in the 74th minute.

BEC striker Cleiton Silva had a couple of good chances but failed to beat in-form Buriram goalkeeper Sivarak Tedsungnern.

At SCG Stadium, Bolivia's Edivaldo Rojas opened the scoring from the spot for Muang Thong after 21 minutes and Teerasil Dangda's brilliant solo effort made it 2-0 with four minutes to go. Kanokphol Rungruangrojchana reduced the deficit to 2-1.

At Leo Stadium, Bangkok Glass thrashed Pattaya United 4-1.

Teerathep Winothai (5), Lazarus Kaimbi (9), Supasek Kaikaew (51) and Korakod Viriyaudomsiri (90) were on target for the hosts as Efe Obode got a consolation for the visitors in the 89th minute.

At United Stadium, Chiang Rai United moved closer to relegation after a 3-0 loss to Osotspa.

At Thammasat Stadium, Insee Police United lost 1-0 to Samut Songkhram FC.
