The dam in Tha Rua district is currently releasing 513 cubic metres per second of water into the Pasak River said Panukit Ditpueng, chief of the Irrigation Office in central provinces. The rate of discharge would be increased to  600cu/m per second on Thursday.

This would affect Tha Rua, Nakhon Luang and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya districts, the official added.

The Pasak water level is already rising after the upstream Pasak Jolasid dam, in Lop Buri and Sara Buri, released more water.

The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department reported on Wednesday that 25 provinces are still flooded and that the number people who had been killed as a result of the flood had jumped to 27 from 23 on Tuesday.

Hard-hit Prachin Buri continues to experience rising water levels, especially in the municipal area.

In Ayutthaya, a total of eight districts with 29,888 households or 100,039 local residents were reported to be affected by the flood.
