Angry woman started Klong Toey fire

A woman has admitted to setting her house on fire during an angry quarrel with her husband, causing a major blaze in Klong Toey’s Rom Klao community, police said.

The 37-year-old woman, who was identified as Chanthana Patcharasophit, was apprehended at Big C department store on Rama IV on Monday about 4pm while walking with her husband Somphon Kham-i, Metropolitan Police Bureau chief Pol Lt Gen Kamronwit Thupkrachang said.

The suspect admitted to setting fire to a pile of her clothing during a quarrel with her husband on Sunday night. 

The blaze not only destroyed her home, but it quickly spread to the surrounding Rom Klao community ravaging about 50 houses in zone 1.
