Father ordered to pay

Anchalee ‘Ae’ Hassadeevichit.

Actress Anchalee "Ae" Hassadeevichit is delighted after a court awarded her sole custody of her child, and told the resort-owner father to pay up 7.3 million baht in support.

The Juvenile and Family Court's order comes after Ae persuaded the father, businessman Komkrit "Tel" Chanwisut, in February to give a DNA test to confirm the child's parentage.

Tel, 34, a luxury resort owner in Phuket and Koh Phangan of Surat Thani province, walked out on Ae when she was four months pregnant. When the result confirming Tel was the father was unsealed in court in August, Ae declared she did not want any of Tel's money.

Their child, Avie, is now three-and-a-half years old.

"I just want his name as Avie's legitimate father to appear on her birth certificate, so there is no longer any doubt about whether she has a dad," she said in tears.

"She is now going to kindergarten and is teased by her friends that she has no father.

"The DNA test will also help put an end to rumours that as Avie's mother I am a bad woman, or that I was seeing more than one man at once," she said.

Despite earlier claiming she didn't want his money, her application to the court asked Tel to pay 21.3 million baht, representing his share of the costs associated with the child's delivery, and the child's schooling through to university age.

Ae's younger sister, model Yossavadee "Yo" Hassadeevichit, gave evidence on her behalf.

The court agreed this month that as the child's father, Tel should help pay for her upkeep.

Tel did not show up for the judgement.

Ae said she was delighted the court found in her favour, as the cost of looking after their child alone was taking its toll.

"These days I have nothing to support us but for appearance fees at events, and a direct food venture I have entered into in which I send food to our customers every morning," she said.

"It's enough to support our day to day needs, but on top of that I have Avie's kindergarten fees of 7,000 baht a term, and her health insurance.

"Tel once proposed paying maintenance of 10,000 baht a month, but changed his mind.

"At least it was good of him to agree to the DNA test at Ramathibodi Hospital.

"I just hope he doesn't intend appealing against the order, as everything I'm doing is for the sake of our child."

My hero, but not my boyfriend

Model Tadsika "Kratai" Yutimit says she still regards heart-throb actor Veeraparb "Vee" Suparbpaiboon as a superhero, after he saved her from a burning plane.

Veeraparb ‘Vee’ Suparbpaiboon and Tadsika ‘Kratai’ Yutimit.

Kratai, who is this year's Miss Maxim beauty pageant winner, was asked last week about a picture on social media of herself dining with notorious Romeo Vee at Siam Paragon.

Kratai appears at the table holding up a "reserved" sign, a joking reference to the fact she would like to "reserve" him as her own. As well as being firm friends in the aftermath of the plane mishap, the two are also master's students in the same class at Bangkok Thonburi University.

"Women all over the country love Vee, and of course I'd like to stake my claim over him," she said.

"But even if he was to flirt, I don't think it would work, as our relationship has moved beyond that point. We're like brother and sister, and talk about everything."

The two were returning with their university class from a field trip to China when their flight, THAI Airways TG679 from Guangzhou, skidded off the runway at Suvarnabhumi airport shortly before midnight on Sept 8.

The plane's landing gear failed, and sparks were spotted as the aircraft ran on to a grassy strip next to the runway. The accident drew international attention after THAI later blacked out the plane's logo while the plane sat limply on the verge.

"As a fire broke out, I tried to flee from the plane, but I bumped into a Chinese passenger," Kratai recalls.

"Everything spilled out of my bag, including clothes and my phone.

"I was still in a state of shock, and could barely contain myself.

"But Vee turned up like a superhero on a white horse ... he picked up my stuff and took me to the exit where we jumped on to an inflated slide and slid out the plane.

"I sprained my angle as I landed, so Vee put me on his back and fled with me to safety.

"If it wasn't for him, I would have ended up with greater injuries than I did as passengers rushed to get out of the plane."

Kratai and Vee were among 13 passengers who sustained minor injuries in the mishap, which is under investigation.

The accident occurred on the eve of Vee's 32nd birthday.

In his reaction, he has described the ordeal _ "the most terrifying moments of my life" _ as akin to dying and being born again.

Kratai said the shared ordeal had changed their relationship, and probably put him out of reach as a potential boyfriend.

"Before, we were just friends, but since we started studying together, and then stared death in the face during that accident, we have drawn closer," she said.

"He shows no sign of wanting to flirt. We talk mainly as two people who are worried about each other."

Just colleagues, OK?

Rinlanee ‘Joy’ Sripen.

Actress Rinlanee "Joy" Sripen has the perfect answer for gossip-mongers who claim she is having an affair with TV3 presenter Sorayuth Suthassanachinda.

Far from avoiding the public gaze, she and Sorayuth are appearing together more often.

Joy came under media scrutiny after intimate pictures of her with Sorayuth started doing the rounds of social media.

"I admire the skills of that writer ... he can make it seem as if we are really seeing each other, when there's actually no truth to the rumour at all," she said when asked about one early report linking the pair.

Joy and Sorayuth team up on his morning news show once a week to discuss entertainment news.

Last week the pair came together again, with Joy holding Sorayuth's arm in a public relations shot at TV3's studio. Their co-presenters also appear, pointing the finger playfully as if they know the pair should keep their distance.

Joy also left a post on social media to spite her critics. "Here we are, arm in arm again, just as the stories would have you believe. One day, you might even catch us shopping and talking together sweetly!" she wrote.
