King, Queen's health better - doctor

The health of Their Majesties the King and Queen has continued to improve, a member of the royal physicians team said.

His Majesty is able to navigate his electric wheelchair on his own, said Udom Kachintorn, dean of the faculty of medicine at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. Dr Udom is a member of the team of doctors looking after the King and Queen at Klai Kangwon Palace in Prachuap Khiri Khan.

The King visits the Sala Paed Liam (octagonal pavilion) to feed the fish every evening, the doctor said. The King is currently in good spirits and often smiles and laughs.

The Queen's condition has also improved, said Dr Udom. Her Majesty enjoys walking short distances for exercise. The Queen's overall condition remains satisfactory, the doctor said.

Their Majesties are not scheduled to return to Siriraj Hospital any time soon, he added.
