Censure debate likely on Nov 22-24

The opposition is expected to file a motion this week for a no-confidence debate against the government, with the meeting expected to be on Nov 22-24, government chief whip Amnuay Khlangpha said on Thursday.

Mr Amnuay said this assumption is based on the fact that Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is scheduled to leave on an overseas trip on Nov 25.

He believed the prime minister and other cabinet ministers are ready for the grilling.

Jurin Laksanavisit, the opposition chief whip, said a censure motion would be filed no later than next week.

Members of the opposition are ready for the debate, especially on the government's rice-pledging scheme, he said.
