RKK suspects arrested in Narathiwat

A combined force of police and soldiers early Thursday arrested seven men suspected to be members of the Ronda Kumpulan Kecil (RKK) at a house in Narathiwat's Rueso district, reports said.

The security force raided house No 104 in Ban Saworhile of tambon Sawor about 2am on information that seven armed men were hiding there.

On seeing police and soldiers, the seven men ran out of the house into nearby rubber plantation, which was also surrounded by security forces. They all were arrested without a fight.

The suspects were identified as Sahoh Mayeemadeeyoh, 40, and Mayayid Wayi, 33. Both are wanted under arrest warrants on crimnal charges.

The other suspects are Mumin Wayae, 23, Marorpee Deereng, 23, Anach Binwamae, 24, Ibrorhep Arwae, 23 and Nasru Maprasit, 22.

After searching the house, the authorities found and seized one 11mm pistol, two 9mm handguns, one .38 pistol and 67 cartridges for the three handguns, four military uniforms, nine sleeping bags, 11 mobile phones, one motorcycle and a range of survival kit items. 

The suspects were taken to Wachirawut military camp in Nakhon Si Thammarat for questioning.
