Korbsak: Political reform first

Thailand needs a reform and politicians are the main reason why the country is in a "traumatised" condition, according to Korbsak Sabhavasu, the former Democrat Party deputy leader.

Mr Korbsak on Saturday posted United States President Barack Obama's quote on his Facebook page, saying "We cannot keep doing the things we have been doing and expect a different result."

He said the country wanted Thai politicians who know better of what is right and what is wrong.

"If we still use the same process of electing politicians, the result will be the same," said Mr Korbsak, who was a deputy premier in the previous Democrat-led government.

National reform must begin with political reform first. New regulations should be put in place before the next general election, he added.
