Four police wounded at Din Daeng

Four police were injured in the clash with Network of Students and People for Reform of Thailand (SRT) protesters at the Thai-Japanese sports stadium at Din Daeng this moring, reports said.

While the protesters tried to break through obstacles into the sports complex, police fired tear gas canisters and rubber bullets at them. Clouds of gas and smoke spread across the scene of the clash.

Pol Sgt Maj Tawee Wongchan from Tha Muang district of Nakhon Sawan and Pol Sr Sgt Maj Nimit Thongkham from Thong Chai police station in Prachuap Khiri Khan were injured by ping pong bombs.

Pol Sr Sgt Maj Preecha Thongpiam, also from Nakhon Sawan's Tha Muang district, suffered a head injury.

Pol L/Cpl Thanapol Nopluay, a riot control policeman, was hit by a bullet in the right shoulder.  It was not known  where the bullet was fired from.
