Three dead in Cambodia clash

PHNOM PENH - Three people have been confirmed dead in Phnom Penh after Cambodian police opened fire on hundreds of garment workers protesting for a higher minimum wage, local media reported on Friday.

Phnom Penh municipal police chief Choun Narin said three people were dead and others injured and arrested, The Cambodia Daily newspaper reported.

About 200 military police armed with assault rifles clashed with protesters in an industrial district of Phnom Penh. Protesters used sticks and petrol bombs against police.
