Bomb attack on BlueSky host's home

A bottle bomb was thrown into the residence of Teemah "Judd" Kanjanapairin, who hosts a political show on the Democrat Party-owned BlueSky satellite television channel, overnight, but no one was injured and damage was limited.

Pol Lt Col Veerasak Srisamai, an investigator at Samae Dam police station, said police received a report of the attack at 2.30am. The petrol bomb destroyed a fish pond, a trash can and a front gate of the house.

Mr Teemah told police that he returned home on Monday night after hosting a show on the TV channel and taking part in an anti-government protest, led by the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC).

The political show host said he was still awake when saw a fire blossom outside his house. He was able to put out the blaze before it spread further.

Police were investigating.

Last Wednesday, gunshots were fired outside the residence of former prime minister Chuan Leekpai, chairman of the advisory board of Democrat Party, in Trang province.

Kit Leekpai, president of the Trang Provincial Administration Organisation and Mr Chuan's brother, said he believed that the shooting was a threat and was political.

On Dec 26, at least 20 bullets were fired at the Trang house of PDRC co-leader Sathit Wongnongtoey, who is a former Democrat Party MP. Mr Sathit also said the shooting was probably politically motivated.
