NSPRT won't obstruct Children's Day

The anti-government Student and People Network for Thailand's Reform (SPNTR) will not hinder activities arranged for Children's Day on Saturday at Government House, SPNTR coordinator Uthai Yodmanee said on Friday.

Mr Uthai said told reporters on Friday that the NSPRT had no plans to interfere with the Children's Day activities. Organisers, parents and children would be able to enter Government House using Orathai bridge, he said.

The anti-government group will also organise activities for children on Saturday and give out 10 scholarships to  school and university students in Bangkok and nearby provinces under the campaign "Growing without Cheating".

Protesters led by the SPNTR have occupied areas outside Government House since last month, demanding national reform before a general election, currently scheduled for Feb 2.
