Airports of Thailand Plc has issued special stickers to about 6,000 airport taxis to show anti-government protesters that the vehicles are carrying tourists.

They have asked the protesters to allow these taxis to travel through roads blocked as part of the Bangkok shutdown campaign.
Suvarnabhumi airport transport director Banpot Sornto said the orange stickers, which will be about A5 in size, will be attached to the front and the rear of taxis which are registered to serve tourists at the airport.
Pathawee Meerat, a coordinator of taxi drivers at Suvarnabhumi airport, said he had asked demonstrators to make way for taxi drivers to deliver their passengers to their destinations safely.
Meanwhile, Suvarnabhumi airport director Rawewan Netrakavesna has advised outbound air passengers to allow at least four hours to make their way to the airport as road blockades by demonstrators may cause delays along their routes.
She recommends air passengers take Airport Link trains to Suvarnabhumi, and use the skytrain and subway networks within the city, instead of travelling on roads.
Caretaker Transport Minister Chadchart Sittipunt said he had ordered the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority and Transport Co to re-route their passenger buses to avoid demonstration venues.
Mr Chadchart said the blockade at Lat Phrao intersection will affect 13 bus routes, and they will take detours to Ratchavibha intersection and Kamphaeng Phet Road.
Transport Co's inter-provincial buses will use Don Muang Tollway and a local road from Wat Samian Nari intersection to travel to and from the Mor Chit bus terminal in Chatuchak district.
The Expressway Authority of Thailand and Don Muang Tollway Co will allow passenger buses bearing special signs issued by the Ministry of Transport to use their expressways free of charge to avoid demonstration venues.
