An improvised bomb was detonated on Tuesday morning on the Pattani-Hat Yai road in Nong Chik district of Pattani province but nobody was hurt, police said.
Pol Col Yukol Prasananont, the Nong Chik police chief, said the blast occurred about 9am while six soldiers from Pattani Task Force 24 were on foot patrol nearby to provide road security.
Nobody was hurt by the explosion.
