Trat provincial governor Benchawan Arnpruang on Wednesday said the Hat Lek border crossing in  Khlong Yai district will now be open from 6am–10pm instead of 7am–8pm.

The extended hours will benefit business and tourism, making it more convenient for both travellers and traders crosing the border.

Operating hours at the Aranyaprathet crossing in Sa Kaeo province, Chong Jom crossing in Surin, Chong Sa Ngam crossing in Si Sa Ket, and Ban Pak-kard crossing in Chanthaburi have also been extended, said Ms Benchawan.

The changed hours were specified by the Interior Ministry on Dec 27, 2013, she said.
