An M26 hand grenade was thrown into the famed Suan Pakkad Palace on Si Ayutthaya Road, home of Bangkok Governor Sukhumbhand Paribatra, on late Thursday night. No injuries were reported.

Police said the grenade exploded on the property’s car park shortly after 10pm. It damaged a car and left a 10 cm-deep hole in the ground. The grenade was of the same type used in the attack on the housing compound of Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva on late Tuesday night.
MR Sukhumbhand was not at home at the time of the attack.
The palace, one of Bangkok’s historical places, consists of four traditional Thai houses. The place houses a display of antiques dating from prehistoric times to the Rattanakosin period.
MR Sukhumbhand has condemned the attack. “This should not have happened. It was too mean to do such thing with a historical place of all Thais,” he said.
He believes the people behind the bombing are the same group who attacked Mr Abhisit’s home.
At 8pm, an explosive device was thrown from a motorcycle near the People's Democratic Reform Committee's (PDRC) rally site at the statue of King Rama VI at Lumpini Park. No one was injured.
PDRC security guard Wattana Markpa, 20, told police two men on a black Honda Wave motorcycle without a licence plate approached the Sathon-Rama 4 intersection where he and three other guards were manning a vehicle checkpoint. The pillion rider tossed a bomb onto the footpath near the park's entrance gate. They fled along Wireless Road.
The men wore bullet-proof vests and black full-face masks, Mr Wattana said.
