Suthep leads PDRC marchers again

Protesters with the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), led by Suthep Thuagsuban, on Saturday morning began marching from Pathumwan intersection to urge Bangkokians to join the Bangkok Shutdown campaign.

The protesters marched to Hua Chang bridge, on their way to Ratchathewi intersection, New Petchaburi Road and Banthat Thong Road, where demonstrators were attacked with a grenade on Friday afternoon.

A total of 36 protesters were injured by the explosion on Friday. One demonstrator, Prakong Chuchan, was killed in the attack.

He was taken to Ramathibodi hospital with severe injuries after the blast, but pronounced dead early Saturday morning.

Mr Suthep said he and his supporters were not afraid of death. He condemned the bomb attack as the act of a bandit and called on the caretaker government to take responsibility for its failure to provide security for the protesters.
