A dozen abstract paintings are decorating the walls of Chomp Cafe, enticing observers to lose themselves in the flow of colours, lines, designs, details and motion.
The "FAD" _ meaning "freeform abstract dub" _ exhibition showcases 12 oil paintings created by UK painter and drummer Joe Delaney, aka Jam Jar Joe, who finds influences in daily life, music and the places he has lived ranging from Ireland and the UK to Spain and Thailand, where he's lived for the past 11 years.
Delaney's love of these countries is portrayed in his largest piece, The Middle Of The Road, in which his memories are combined in a realistic landscape.
Most of his works, however, are abstract and come from observing, listening and feeling various events and places.
Both Mama's Backyard and Above The Love come from Bangkok's infamous Patpong area.
There he would watch an old lady run her business while never venturing more than a few metres away from it. She was always watchful and would ensure things didn't change in her "backyard".
Inspiration for the latter piece came about when he observed lonely hearts venturing out beneath a setting sun as the neon lights started blinking to life.
The 43-year-old is the only non-Thai member of the Chino Art Group, which consists of 12 people aiming to promote art around the islands and Thailand.
