LOS ANGELES - Justin Bieber's pilots were forced to wear gas masks during a flight from Canada to New Jersey because the teen pop star and his entourage filled the private jet with marijuana smoke, according to NBC News and other United States media.
The 19-year-old, his father and 10 others were so out of control, harassing the crew and ignoring the captain, that a flight attendant had to seek refuge in the cockpit, the broadcaster reported.
The pilots donned their emergency oxygen masks against the haze of pot smoke for fear of failing future drug tests, according to the report.
The report said US Drug Enforcement Administration and customs agents met the plane in Teterboro, New Jersey, when it allegedly still had marijuana smoke inside the cabin. They say no cannabis was found on the plane or in Bieber's luggage.
Bieber admitted to smoking pot on the plane when questioned by authorities, but he and his father and friends were allowed to go free because none of the crew was willing to file charges, according to the report.
The alleged incident was Friday, when the Canadian and his friends were headed to New York for Super Bowl weekend.
