The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) plans to seek a court order to confiscate 296 million baht from Gen Sathian Permthong-in, former permanent secretary for defence.
Vicha Mahakhun, an NACC member, said the panel did not believe Gen Sathian's claim that he had received part of the sum from the sales of amulets, land, gems and properties and that the rest of the money in his accounts belonged to his adopted child and military colleagues.
The NACC also resolved to freeze another 22 million baht worth of his assets in addition to the 69 million baht already taken for examination.
