Bank worker shot, set on fire in Pattani

A 29-year-old female Bangkok Bank employee was shot and then burnt to death in Yaring district, in Pattani province. A note to the army chief was also found at the scene.

Sayamol Sae-Lim, who worked at Bangkok Bank's Yaring branch, was shot while riding her motorcycle home on Road 42 (Pattani-Narathiwat) in Ban Toh Jitay, in tambon Tanyong Jer-nga sub-district about 5.50pm yesterday.

Witnesses heard four gunshots before the woman fell from her motorbike. The killer then poured petrol on her and set her alight. A hand-written note to the army chief found at the scene said she would not be the last victim in the three southernmost provinces.
