PDRC supporters were standing in the road ready to confront riot police, according to a Bangkok Post reporter at the scene.

Police gathered at Laksi this morning before moving in on the Chaeng Watthana rally stage controlled by PDRC protest leader Luang Pu Buddha Issara.

Another group of police attempted to block protesters from getting into the area.

The protest monk's rally site is preventing officials from entering the government complex at Chaeng Watthana.

A giant firecracker was heard exploding nearby this morning.

A separate PDRC group has moved to reinforce demonstrators at the Interior Ministry amid concerns that police will also try to reclaim the occupied agency.
