A motorcycle taxi driver was arrested in Bang Kae district on Wednesday for allegedly robbing a Kasikornbank branch and stealing 500,000 baht in cash on Tuesday afternoon.
City police commissioner Pol Gen Khamronwit Thoopkrachang said Thinakorn Thong-antang, 34, from Sakon Nakhon, was detained at a restaurant in Bang Kae district after police identified him from CCTV footage on Tuesday.
Mr Thinakorn, a traffic volunteer from Tha Phra police station, pretended to be a police officer when he robbed the bank.
