UDD supporters heading for Kalasin

A large number of United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) supporters have left Udon Thani and are heading to Kalasin in a mass rally to counter the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC).

The UDD supporters from Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Bung Kan, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan and Sakon Nakhon provinces stayed overnight at the Thung Sri Muang open ground in Udon Thani on Saturday.

Led by UDD chairwoman Tida Tawornseth, many other UDD core members and Pheu Thai leader Charupong Ruangsuwan, the UDD supporters departed from Udon Thani at 8am in a column of about 500 cars and pickup trucks and 20 buses taking the Udon Thani-Kumphawapi-Kranuan-Huay Mek-Yang Talat route.

The column of vehicles caused heavy traffic congestion on Udon Thani-Khon Kaen road.

From Kalasin, their next stops are Maha Sarakham and Khon Kaen.
