Thai authorities have agreed to extend the hours of the Mae Sot-Myawaddy checkpoint by four-and-a-half hours to 10pm.
Col Therdsak Ngamsanong, commander of the 4th Infantry Regiment Task Force in Mae Hong Son and chairman of the Thai side’s Thailand-Myanmar Border Township Committee (TBC) in Mae Sot district of Tak, said operating hours at the Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge, open daily between 6am to 6pm, will be extended.
The checkpoint now will open daily between 5.30am and 10pm, he said.
