A rubber tapper was shot dead late on Monday night while returning home on a motorcycle from a tea shop in Yala's Yaha district, police said.
Police said Matohe Late, 40, a rubber tapper of Muang Labu village in tambon Patae, was ambushed by unidentified men hiding on the road side. The attack occurred about 11.40pm.
Matohe was seriously wounded. He died shortly after being admitted to Yaha Hospital.
Police were investigating.
