Yingluck visiting Sakon Nakhon

Caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her entourage have arrived in Sakon Nakhon province Thursday at the start of a two-day inspection tour of the Northeast, reports said.

She was accompanied by Transport Minister Chadchart Sittipunt, Science and Technology Minister Pirapan Palusuk, Deputy Interior Minister Visarn Techathirawat, Deputy Education Minister Sermsak Pongpanich, permanent secretary for the interior Wibul Sanguanpong and PM's deputy secretary-general Tawatchai Boonfueng.

They arrived at the Sakon Nakhon airport from Don Mueang about 10am.

The prime minister then proceeded to Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University to preside over a meeting to follow up measures to combat drought in the Northeast. The meeting was attended by governors of northeastern provinces.

This afternoon she will visit the Phu Phan development study centre under the royal initiative at Ban Na Nok Khao in tambon Huay Yang of Sakon Nakhon's Muang district.

From Sakon Nakhon, she will proceed to Mukdahan.
