Core anti-government leader Taya Teepsuwan announced she will "take a break" from politics because of concerns about the safety of her family and students at Sivikorn School, which owned by her mother Khunying Samima Srivikorn.

Ms Taya, a former deputy Bangkok governor under the Democrat Party and a core leader of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee, announced the decision on her Facebook page early Friday morning.
Under the title, take a break from politics, Ms Taya said the incidents at her mother’s home in Khao Yai, her own house and Srivikorn School over the past week were the result of her own actions.
“I am sorry for all the people who are in trouble and i'm worried about the safety of people surrounding me.
"After thinking it through, I decided to take responsibility by stopping any political activity. I hope that this decision will protect my mother and other people, particularly students, from any possible harm,” she said.
Ms Taya’s decision came after more than 100 gunshots were fired at Khunying Sasima’s house in Khao Yai, Nakhon Ratchasima. No one was hurt.
Her home in Sukhumvit, where she stays with her husband Nattapol Teepsuwan, who is another core PDRC leader, was twice attacked with bombs that did not explode.
The attacks occurred after Ms Taya and Mr Natapol blew whistles at Khunying Potjaman na Pombejara, the ex- wife of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra at a fashionable mall on Bangkok's Sukhumvit Road in late February.
