More than 100 shots were fired at Khunying Sasima’s house in Khao Yai on March 1. No one was hurt.

Police investigators obtained a court  warrant for the arrest of an unnamed suspect based on a sketch compiled from witness accounts and other evidence. (graphic left).

He has a dark complexion and is about 170-centimetre tall. He is accused of trespassing while armed with a weapon and illegally owning a gun and ammunition.

The attack on Mrs Taya’s mother, and another on her own residence, compelled Mrs Taya to “take a break” from politics on the sake of her family's safety.

Mrs Taya is a former deputy Bangkok governor for the Democrat Party. Her husband, Nattapol Teepsuwan, is still active in the anti-government protest orchestrated by  the People’s Democratic Reform Committee.

The attacks occurred after Ms Taya and Mr Nathapol blew whistles at Khunying Potjaman na Pombejara, the ex-wife of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra at fashionable Emporium mall in Bangkok's Sukhumvit area last month, causing her to flee.
