The Lermontov Quartet will perform a programme of Mozart compositions at the Imperial Queen’s Park Hotel on the evening of March 27, starting at 7.30pm.

The foursome, which comprises Jonathon Glonek and Inga Causa on violin, Colin Wrubleski on viola and Marcin Szawelski on cello, will perform four stunning pieces representing the early, middle and late stages of Mozart’s career: Quartet No.3 In G-Major (K156); Quartet No.4 In C-Major (K157); Quartet No.14 In G-Major (K387); and Quartet No.23 In F-Major (K590).
Australian-born Glonek has presented many challenging and serious programmes to audiences throughout Europe, the US, Southeast Asia and Australia. He has performed Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn and Bach concertos in Thailand and abroad, as well as the complete unaccompanied works of Bach and Paganini. He is currently teaching at Chulalongkorn University.
Hailing from Latvia, Causa has worked professionally with the Latvian National Opera orchestra, the Latvian National Symphonic Orchestra, Rigas Kamermuziki and the Riga Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2005 she was appointed as principal second violinist of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO).
A Canadian citizen, Wrubleski taught and performed in a variety of amateur, semi-professional and collegiate ensembles in Korea before he moved to Thailand. Now he is in his second season as principal viola player with the TPO and is also a violin and viola instructor at Mahidol University’s Music Campus for the General Public.
Polish cellist Szawelski joined the TPO and the Mahidol University Baroque Orchestra to give more than 200 concerts in recent years. He is also a cello and chamber-music instructor at Mahidol’s College of Music.
Tickets for the recital on March 27 cost 700 baht (300 baht for students).
