The Meteorological Department on Wednesday issued a warning for people in upper Thailand to brace for summer thunderstorms, gusts and isolated hailstorms between Mar 20-23.
The predicted harsh weather conditions are due to a moderate high pressure system covering Central China, which is expected to move over upper Thailand during the period.
Summer thunderstorms, gusts and isolated hailstorms are likely in the upper part of the country, starting in the Northeast during the night of March 20, before moving to other regions. The temperature is expected to drop by 5-7 degrees Celsius.
