The Meteorological Department on Sunday issue a warning for people in the North, Central and East to brace for summer storms over the next day.

The department said a moderately high pressure is covering upper Thailand while a westerly trough is moving in from Myanmar to the north of Thailand.

As a result, summer thunderstorms with gusts and isolated hail are likely in the northern, central and eastern provinces particularly Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Phayao, Nan, Lamphun, Lampang, Uttaradit, Phrae, Phetchabun, Ratchaburi, Kanchanaburi, Uthai Thani, Nakhon Sawan, Chanthaburi and Trat.

People are advised to be careful as the storms may cause damage to property, advertising signboards, big trees and buildings.
