Thieves grab B10 mln watch

A wristwatch worth more than 10 million baht was stolen from a shop in Gaysorn Plaza near the Ratchaprasong intersection Tuesday.

According to a Montblanc press release: The most expensive watch is the Grand Tourbillion Heures Mysterieuses in platinum, of which only one has been made so far. This tourbillion is also available in 18-carat white gold (in photo), limited to eight pieces at $319,000 each.

Staff at the Montblanc luxury watch shop reported the theft to Lumpini police.

They said three well-dressed foreign men, who spoke Chinese, entered the shop and asked to see some high-end watches.

When the staff were not looking, one of the men snatched one of the watches and put it in his pocket. The men then left the shop located on the first floor of the shopping plaza.

The stolen watch is one of only eight that Montblanc made and is priced at 10.1 million baht.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage and hope to discover the number plate of the taxi which the men took after leaving the shop.
