Gang wanted for overnight murder

The Criminal Court on Wednesday approved warrants for the arrest of seven members of a gang believed responsible for opening fire on a rival group with shotguns, pistols amd rifles in Soi Intamara 25, killing one young man and wounding another, on Tuesday night.

Police said the attack occurred about 7pm. A group of young men from Soi Intamara 25 were splashing water in a Songkran celebration when about 15 youths from Soi Intamara 10 arrived and opened fire at them with several  kinds of firearms.

The attackers then ran away to the Suthisarn intersection and sped off on motorcycles.

Two young men were wounded in the attack.  One was admitted to King Mongkut Hospital.  The other was rushed to Paolo Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.

Police found about 40 spent shells from shotguns, and 9mm and M16 firearms at the scene.
