Little-known political party dissolved

Bamrungmuang Party failed to account for expenditure

The Constitutional Court on Wednesday ordered the dissolution of Bamrungmuang Party and banned its executives from politics for five years for violating the Political Party Act, as requested by the Election Commission.

The EC earlier found the party to have failed to file a report on expediture of the political party development fund for the year 2012.  This was in violation of Sections 42, 82 and 93 of the Political Party Act of 2007.

The court also banned the party leader and executive committee members from politics for five years.

The little-known Bamrungmuang Party was set up on Nov 1, 2010 with 5,445 members.  Suwan Pramoonchai was the party leader and Mali Ek-ariyakul the party secretary-general.
