Pheu Thai: Army must arrest Suthep

The Pheu Thai Party on Friday asked armed forces leaders to arrest PDRC leader Suthep Thaugsuban for blatant breaches of the law, alleging he was a threat to national security.

Pheu Thai spokesman Prompong Nopparit said the top brass should order troops to seize the People's Democratic Reform Committee secretary-general. who had intentionally ignored and broken the law despite being already indicted on eight charges, including insurrection and illegal assembly, by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) on Thursday.

Mr Suthep is a threat to national security threats, he said. Pheu Thai lawyers were compiling a case against him.

Acting caretaker Prime Minister Niwatthamrong Bunsongphaisan was tight-lipped on Friday, only saying that  he hoped the situation would return to normal.

''I hope that everything will be okay,'' he told reporters.
