“Green Sun” is the multimedia exhibition by Tao Zhou, the winner of Han Nefkens — BACC Award for Contemporary Art. Produced during his residency here in Bangkok, his works which include video, photos and paintings randomly capture bits and pieces of experiences that interest and inspire him.

Toot Yung Art Center presents photographic works by American-based Lebanese artist Rania Matar. Selected from her three different series, shot between 2005 and 2012 — “Ordinary Lives”, “Girl In Her Room” and “L’Enfant-Femme”, these works explore the lives of women and children in the Middle East, as well as in the US.

“Transmission” is an exhibition exploring the interface between cultural heritage and contemporary art. The show’s starting point is a collection of art and artefacts of the Jim Thompson Thai House and Museum, a collection that is almost synonymous with Thai heritage. Most of its contents are actually older than Thailand itself, and thus offer a pre-national consciousness of Thai art.

As part Guggenheim UBS MAP Global Art Initiative, The Centre for Contemporary Art in Singapore presents “No Country: Contemporary Art For South And Southeast Asia”, which features 19 works by 16 artists and collectives from 11 countries, including Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and the UK. Curated by Singaporean June Yap, these artworks range in media from painting to photography, sculpture and video.
