Protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban has cancelled a planned dinner at a Bangkok club to raise money to help people injured during the six-month long anti-government demonstrations.
Mr Suthep, known as Lung Kamnan, earlier planned a fund-raising dinner for 70 supporters at the Pacific Club in Bangkok, selling tickets at 10,000 baht each.
In a post on his Facebook page, Mr Suthep said the money would be spent assisting protesters who are still in hospital.
However, a new posting on Wednesday said it had been suggested the dinner could be seen as a violation of the announcement of the National Council for Peace and Order, and could encourage other groups of people to stage activities that would cause damage to the country.
Mr Suthep had therefore decided to postpone the fund-raiser and he would find another way to help injured people still in hospital.
