More gambling machines seized

Police and soldiers seized 83 gambling machines and coins totalling 1.2 million baht, and arrested a suspect, in a raid on two premises in Nong Chok district of Bangkok on Wednesday.

The pinball, horse racing and slot machines were found at houses No 90/82 and 103/462 in Khok Faet sub-district.

Phitsanu Inkaew, 41 of Uthai Thani province, was arrested there. He said a man named Dam hired him to guard the machines and the coins, and he also repaired the machines for a living.

Acting police chief Pol Gen Watcharapol Prasarnrajkit said the machines had been moved from inner Bangkok and hidden there after the National Council for Peace and Order ordered a crackdown on gambling.

He said the raids would continue as similar machines were being kept in many other areas.
