A woman was killed and two men wounded, one seriously, in a gun attack in Pattani's Khok Pho district on Sunday, police said.
Pol Col Kampanart Panichprasert, the Khok Pho police chief, said the attack occurred on Sunday morning in front of a grocery shop on Napradu-Sai Khao road in tambon Sai Khao.
While the three people were buying items at the shop, three men pulled up on two motorcycles and opened fire at them before fleeing, wounding all of them. They were admitted to Khok Pho Hospital.
The woman, identified as Kesani Romketkaew, 44, who was hit in the head and body, was pronounced dead. Kan Chanthornboon, 45, was seriously wounded, while Songpol Kocha-on, 43, was slightly wounded in the head.
A number of spent M16 and 9mm ammunition shells were recovered from the scene.
