Former attorney-general quits THAI

Former attorney-general Atthapol Yaisawang has stepped down from the board of Thai Airways International (THAI), the Stock Exchange of Thailand said on Wednesday.

Mr Atthapol resigned on Tuesday and subsequently ended his role as chairman of the audit committee of the airline, according to a filing to the bourse.

Mr Atthapol was ordered by the National Council for Peace and Order on June 11 to move to an inactive post at the Prime Minister's Office.

THAI board chairman and air force chief Prajin Juntong said on Tuesday he will hand over the resignation letter on Thursday.

The board will meet on Friday and is expected to select ACM Prajin's successor.
