Railway board chairman quits

Railway board chairman quits

The chairman of the State Railway of Thailand board of directors resigned Tuesday, to pave the way for a planned board shake-up by the junta.

A source at the SRT said on Tuesday that Boonsom Lerdhirunwong, former dean of Chulalongkorn University's faculty of engineering, had submitted his resignation to the board's secretary.

All seven SRT board members including SRT governor Prapas Chongsanguan are expected to step down this week. ACM Prajin Juntong, head of the NCPO's economic affairs team, is reportedly discussing the makeup of a new board with junta chief Prayuth Chan-ocha.
