It’s time to hit the dance floor and get down and dirty! “Dirty Dancing” is the name given to a “party concert” in the capital on July 19 featuring a number of local musicians renowned for their dancing skills who will be performing songs of their own plus covers of hits by international acts.

The Bangkok Convention Centre at Central Lat Phrao will be transformed into one huge dance floor for the evening, which will open with the punk-rock quartet Tattoo Colour. Expect to hear hits of theirs including Ka Moo, Ko Hok and Cinderella as well as covers of popular numbers by Maroon 5 and Bruno Mars.

Disco/soul/rock combo Jetset’er will then get everyone into a smoother mood with songs such as Yim and Sien Tad Sien as well as covers of electronic music, disco, funk and acid jazz from the likes of Daft Punk, Earth, Wind & Fire and Jamiroquai.

This will also be a rare chance to catch the unique dancing style of singer-turned-producer Montonn Jira. Tata Young will also be putting in an appearance, flaunting her new look (after reportedly shredding some 20kg). She will be hitting the stage to spin along with sexy hits of hers including Dhoom Dhoom, I Believe, El Nin-Yo! and Sexy Naughty Bitchy.

The night will conclude with even more fun as artists from Gancore Club, led by Joey Boy, shake the dance floor with a host of hip hop, R&B and reggae numbers.

Adding extra vibes will be celebrated locals, including DJs Roxy June, Zaap, Leo and Spider Monkey, who’ll be dancing along to whatever they spin on their turntables.

Presented by local radio stations 98.5 Click FM and Get 102.5, the gig is due to kick off at 7pm. Tickets cost 1,200 baht and can be purchased from Thai Ticket Major booths (visit www.thaiticketmajor.com or call 02-262-3456).
